An adjustment in your membership fee isn’t fun. We do this because, like many companies across the Netherlands, we too are facing rising expenses:
- Costs of utilities are doubling in the next 12 months.
- Rent prices in our facilities have increased above CPI.
- We have raised salaries by up to 16% to support our staff.
- Equipment and maintenance costs have increased by up to 20%.
To ensure you the best workout experience, we had to adjust the membership fees, as advised by the industry association NL Actief.
Yes, we can adjust our membership fees every year. This might be a bit technical, but we are allowed to adjust (index) our membership fees annually with the consumer price index percentage. If we do so, we have to send you an email with a minimum of 1 month’s notice. You can also find this in our general Terms and Conditions. We follow the advice of the industry association NL Actief.
Some members are indexed above the consumer price index percentage. They are allowed to cancel their membership within the first 30 days, please keep in mind you have a 4 weeks notice period.
The CPI (Consumer Price Index) percentage shows the average price development annually within the Netherlands. The Dutch government and businesses frequently use it to agree on certain price developments.
The index percentage may vary depending on your current membership fee and the club. When your membership fee is much lower compared to others in the club, the adjustment can be higher. This way, all membership fees are more aligned in every club. But… We did our best to keep your membership fee lower than the fee for members that join us today.
That’s correct. This is the first time we’ve done an indexation. We had to make this decision since this year the circumstances are so unusual. In our General Terms and Conditions, it’s stated that annually indexing our membership fees is possible. We also follow the advice of the industry association NL Actief.
You can check your new membership fee in a personal email from us, received on the 28th of December 2022. These fees vary per club. If you did not see the email, please check your SPAM or contact email@example.com
The change will take effect with your first direct debit on or after February 1st, 2023.
The amount in the email is the basic membership fee without any discounts. It is therefore possible that the amount you pay is lower due to a discount. The applicable discount will also continue to apply to your new membership fee, after February 1st, 2023.
If your membership fee has been changed more than the consumer price index percentage and you are within your minimum term period set out in your membership contract, you have up until the 28th of January 2023 to cancel your membership via this link. After the 28th of January 2023, it is no longer possible to cancel your current membership due to the indexation.
If you are in a contract and your membership fee has been indexed below the consumer price index percentage, you will not be able to exit your membership term early. This price indexation is allowed within your current membership terms and, therefore, is not a valid reason to cancel early.
If you are no longer in contract, you can cancel anytime by giving 4 weeks notice.
It isn’t possible to temporarily freeze your membership due to price indexation.
